Last Shoot of 2016

I was in Dallas visiting family and decided to slide in one last shoot on the last day of the year.  I called up my friend, Jeff Medlin, and set up a shoot with a model I found on ModelMayhem.  I didn't have any gear with me other than my camera;  Jeff brought one strobe and a speedlight.  With these images I decided to use a grid spot and natural light coming in through a window.  It's a balance of strobe vs. natural light.

In the shot above you can see a red gel brushing her hair camera left.  Natural light on the face camera right.  In post I went crazy with the gradient tool.

Pure natural light from the window.  A yellow/orange gradient for a bit of interest.

Same light set up as the first image.

I just skimmed her face with a grid spot from camera right.  Duplicated her in post.

Collabs with other photographers are fun.  No pressure to perform; just have a blast.
