How to find a Location, Wardrobe and Model in 1 Hour - Part 2
Part 2 of the How to Find a Model, Location and wardrobe in 1 hour is finally up! It took us long enough, but we think it's definitely worth the wait!
If you have not watched part 1, CLICK HERE to take you and see Part 1!
So we start off where we left off, THE CAMERA FELL! It was hooked onto the BlackRapid strap which we love, but it was not put on it correctly, so when Mikey was coming down the ladder it fell first! I saved it with my shin, it left a huge dent in my bone, a ton of pain and a very valuable lesson learned! The guys/gals over at BlackRapid spent a lot of time thinking of how the carabiner is going to lock the camera into place and prevent it from falling. If you do not follow the instructions...well you saw what can happen!

The point behind part 1 and part 2 of this video series is that by spending a little bit of time scouting your city, you will be able to find a vintage/boutique store that will help you with your photo shoots! We admit that we are not always inspired and many times are left wondering what to shoot! So when that happens, get a second opinion, in this case Rosie shined with flying colors setting us up with wardrobe, location and a whole lot of inspiration!

We started shooting inside of the Teepee that Rosie had created! She filled it with pillows and we tried to light it with the best of our abilities! The ladder gave us a different perspective to the norm and we where really happy with the results. The best shot was taken with the Lensbaby and created a very out of focus, tilt shift effect that really was the money shot! We love the Lensbaby, yes we understand that you can do the effect in photoshop, but why do stuff in post when you can shoot it right straight out of the camera. STOP BEING LAZY AND LEAVING STUFF TO POST!

In any case, our final shoot was the best one! The model was loosened up, everyone was comfortable with each other, we all joked around and the magic just happened! The Indian headress/American flag shot was perfect. Armed with a simple reflector and the sun we tried to recreate a vision that Mikey had in his head! The sun shining through the flag, and a simple reflector for fill was all we needed to make this shot happen!
One of the most important things in photography is the reaction. To get good reactions you many times as a photographer have to act a little silly, and definitely increase the energy in the shoot. Take control, come out of your shell and make people react. This will take your photography to a new level. It's all about capturing an emotion which many times we must create!

We are extremely happy with the results of this shot, the whole day really!
It just goes to show you that people are really cool! And people that own boutique/vintage stores are even cooler! So whenever you need some help, go check them out and you might be surprised!
