Keeping Texture - Skin Softening - Photoshop Tutorial
Skin softening is one of the most important parts of retouching, especially when dealing with professional models. Not only do the models not want to be shown without retouch, your clients don't either. In this not so perfect world, at least skin should be!
There are a million ways to retouch skin, I personally use 8 different techniques depending on the file, model and most of all output of the file! This technique which I use to maintain as much texture as possible works very well. This is the only one I use when the model has freckles, or a beautiful texture that I simply do not want to ruin! It's also a great way to soften the light on your model. I really like it, so I hope you do as well!

The most important part of all of this process is the skin cleanup! Make sure you do a really good job of removing all of the blemishes/scars/imperfections that you do not want in your image. I know, it's boring but you gotta do it. I will have a whole video on just cleaning up skin so hopefully that will speed up the process a little bit, but it's still time consuming and boring!
